
Dr. Barrett, a recipient of the Southwest Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon Award for distinguished achievement in Oral Surgery earned his D.D.S. from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School. He received his M.D. from the University of Illinois and completed one year of Internal Medicine Residency prior to completing his Oral Maxillofacial training at Carle Foundation Hospital, serving as Chief Resident his final year of training.
Dr. Barrett’s hospital appointments include Covenant Medical Center of Lubbock, Covenant Lakeside Hospital of Lubbock, and Covenant Children’s Hospital of Lubbock. He serves as chief of the Dental Section and sits on the Executive Committee at Covenant Medical Center and is active in the care of acutely injured facial trauma victims at Covenant Medical Center. He is a member of the South Plains District Dental Society, Southwest Society of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons. The Texas Dental Association, American College of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Association of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons. His certifications include Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. In addition, Dr. Barrett has been certified as a Fellow in the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Barrett enjoys spending time with his wife, Lisa and their two daughters, Jaclyn and Brooke. He also enjoys golf and hunting.
